Since 1994, Pontenossa S.p.A. has been the leading company in Northern Italy for the recovery and valorization of non-ferrous metals contained in residues deriving mainly from electric arc furnace (EAF) steel production (steel mill dust) and other zinc-containing residues. A strategic function that follows the paradigm of the Circular Economy to bring concreteness to a sustainable supply chain model within the steel production cycle.
Pontenossa S.p.A. supports the main steelworks in Northern Italy, offering on-time, reliable, and continuous service in the collection and valorization of steel mill dust. It operates in the upper Seriana Valley (BG), maintaining a deep and constructive bond with the territory, while constantly engaging in initiatives to support the local community.
Production of Waelz oxide
Through a complex technological plant, Pontenossa recovers zinc in the form of oxide, giving new life to industrial residues and providing a public utility service in terms of critical raw material recovery, environmental protection, and the development of a sustainable steel supply chain.
Furthermore, the strategic location of the plant allows for the optimization of logistics, reducing the route and minimizing any possible environmental risks linked to the handling of dust.

Where it all begins
Pontenossa S.p.A. is founded, acquiring from Enirisorse S.p.A. the activities related to the recovery and valorization of zinc residues.
In the same year, Pontenossa S.p.A. obtains the Quality Management System Certification.

Regenerative after-burner
Installation of a regenerative after-burner plant for the reduction of VOCs – Volatile Organic Compounds.
