HISTORY

Until 1985 the plats treated ores coming from neighboring mines; because of the exhaustion of these mines in 1985 the ENI group decides to convert the structures and the old plant into a Waelz plant for the treatment of EAF dust with the production of Wael oxide.

In 1994 the plant was acquired by private shareholders, the Pontenossa S.p.A was born and still today manages the plant.

During more than 25 years of nonstop activity the recovery process has been continuously improved passing from 70000 tons of dust annually treated to 150000 tons so increasing the Waelz oxide production.
